OUR Process

Grading is critical to remedy most drainage issues. Here is how the process works for you:

1
Consultation
Your dedicated Account Manager visits your property to assess your drainage issues and develops a customized long-term solution, which can involve grading a portion of your yard. Soon after the initial consultation, you will receive a proposal for your drainage project.
2
Scheduling
Once you give the green light, we schedule a drainage crew to tackle your project.
3
Grading
Your crew arrives and preps the area to be graded. Before the project is finished, the graded area is normally supplemented with our composted topsoil and covered with fresh-cut sod or mulch. Your Account Manager stops by frequently and follows up with the crew to ensure the project goes as planned.
4
Follow-Up
If you ever have questions or concerns about your drainage work, feel free to contact your Account Manager or our office staff. We are always happy to assist.

Frequently Asked Questions

We grade yards when we need to adjust the slope to improve water flow across your property or have a negative grade towards the house. An improper grade can cause standing water or severe erosion—or even allow water to infiltrate your house. Using a variety of techniques, grading is critical to remedy most drainage issues.

Proper grading reduces erosion and runoff, which can be harmful to our waterways. Additionally, we recycle all yard waste and soil at our facility and compost it to produce our own fertile, nutrient-rich topsoil. In addition, having a properly graded yard reduces standing water, which can be prime habitats for mosquitos.

If you talk to five contractors, you are likely to get five different opinions that vary based on each one’s specialty. Because we build long-term relationships with our clients, our goal is to create a long-term solution that mitigates water before it gets to your house. We usually favor gravity over mechanical options, like a sump pump, that eventually give out. Whether it’s a complex drainage project or basic lawn maintenance, our clients know they can depend on us to get the job done right.

We do not offer one-time projects for one simple reason: our existing clients are our top priority, and our business is built on these long-term relationships. We are happy to meet with you to evaluate your drainage issues as long as you are willing to consider us for a maintenance service, such as weekly mowing or our Lawn Care Program.
